How Come No One Told Me About This? 5/04/2006 10:27:00 PM

So apparently birthdays in London are like the opposite of normal birthdays.

People take stuff from you, instead of give it, and instead of friends coming to see you they leave.

I'm only 4 hours in, and already this sucks.

Earlier we went to 'The Roadhouse' to hang out with all the gang together one last time (and a bunch of other Regent's kids were going) and there was a live cover band, which was awesome and all, but then I go to the bathroom, and while I'm washing my hands, some stupid stupid soul-less girl, steals my camera. I had to take it off to go to the bathroom and wash my hands, why is that in the 2 minutes it's not cinched to my wrist, someone grabs it. The lady/chapperone whatever they are, that works in the bathroom even thought she saw the girl who did it and described her to me, and I walked around the whole place for an hour looking for my camera, or a person that looked like this alleged camera thief. I am still SO mad. Not even that much about loosing a $300 camera (which had my $100 1GB memory card in it) but moreso that some loser would steal someone else's camera with their pictures and memories on it...why would you do that? I had the best pictures from tonight too, and half the people didn't bring their cameras because I always take such good pictures, they figured I'd have the best ones of our last night together, and now we're all screwed. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. No one turned anything in yet, but I'm gonna call tommorrow, and see if maybe someone did after we left.

Then the sadder part is that, we get home, and two hours later, we're helping Becca and Noel with their luggage down the stairs as they're the first to leave (during most of which I kept my composure, proudly) and then while we waited outside for the cab with them it turned into a bawl-fest. I was a pretty sore sight, but I have to say at least I wasn't blubbering like Noel, haha. I'm just a splotchy crier.

So hopefully in the morning my eyes won't be swollen, and the day can only improve, yes? I hope so.

Steph i'm sad. I moved to my new room in Smith for my job this summer and everything was going great. But then while i'm unpacking my steak and shake plate dropped from the towel that i had it raped in and now it has a giant crack down the middle. It made me really sad : (.

First Breath of Summer 5/03/2006 04:03:00 PM

Today I stepped outside, and maybe it was the flip-flops, or the light-hearted feeling of walking outside (like a release from a big giant prison called 'school') after one of my last finals, but something about today finally felt for the first time, like summer is actually here. Not, coming soon, not just around the corner. But days, hours, minutes away. Here. Now.

Even though I'm not technically done with this semester yet (I still have one more paper to finish, and two exams tommorrow) I already feel relaxed, knowing that its (practically) over.

My last few days here are gonna be a little awkward, and probably go by extremely fast, but today has just been passing slowly, allowing me to enjoy staring off out the windows, indulging myself with the time to actually indulge in my thoughts, and sitting back and enjoying some of my favorite new music. (Get ready Charley, I think a new mix is coming up).

It's just been one of those nice days. I feel good.

(I feel like ending there, on a quote from James Brown is appropriate, thus ends this particular blog post.)

A breath of fresh air fills the lungs better than pure oxigen ever could. I'm so excited for summer and the new opportunities... if only my friends could stick around too. Can't wait to see you back. Later.
