The Purest Voice on Earth
7/21/2006 11:10:00 PM Sometimes, and I don't know how this still happens--but it does, I forget how much I love Celine Dion. But I do. And then something will catch me off guard, where she's singing a capella on some interview, or singing in French--which I can't understand any of, and I suddenly I'm thrown right back into it. It's just that her voice is so amazing, no matter what the hell is coming out of her mouth, the sound is so gorgeous it can make you cry. Plus, she has such immense control of her voice, its unbelieveable. This is exactly what people need to think of when they start bashing 'singers' who don't write their own music. All you have to do is think about the origin of singing, and music, when the voice was an instrument itself. You have people that are genius composers writing beautiful songs, hire people to play various instruments, and occasionally hire someone for the part of the vox, to help convey the music. I realize this situation doesn't quite pertian to music as its industry today, but I still think it would be horrible if no one ever got to hear some of the amazing voices that are out there (cause there are thousands, not just signed artists like Celine, Josh Groban, Michael Buble, Andre Boticelli) just because they're not writers. They are vocalists which is just an important part of the artform as those who play guitar or piano, and write poetic lyrics. |
