MySpace Is Trying to Steal My Life!!!!
7/10/2006 04:16:00 PM Seriously, I mean, the music feature alone is enough to keep me logged on all the time, but then they go and add sections for up and coming comedians, and then filmakers, and now they're dedicating space for authors and readers to find each other, too. MYSPACE IS ADDING BOOKS!!! BOOKS!! This new section will highlight young, up-and-coming authors and give MySpace members tips about new books and cool book groups to join. The Top Books chart shows what MySpace members are reading, based on their blog links. They're even featuring blogs, too, so even if you don't have a book, your writing could still end up getting featured. And I just logged on to check the new section, and guess who's blog is featured at the moment. Mr. JASON MRAZ's. Wooo! Go Jase! I love his blogs, they're so entertaining I often yearn to share them. But instead, (since you can read Mraz on Myspace now too) I'll post a tidbit from another of my favorite musicians/fantastic writer/entertainers. A little bloggy blog from Mrs. Sara Bareilles that showed up in my inbox today. " Oh. Hey. I miss you. Call me. Nevermind, I get really bad service here. Send some baked goods. Thanks. AAAAAAAAAAnd *SCENE* If this music thing doesn't pan out I might go into screenwriting. I kind of have a knack for it. No big deal. Wanted to make sure and give you all minimal notice for some upcoming shows. ;) You're welcome. It's how I roll. I also wanted to keep this short, but I’m not going to. Sorry. We have a couple of local shows and then we are off to take care of our little Nor Cal kiddies for a few days. In an encore performance of last year's Nor Cal Tour with Raining Jane We have all promised to wear the exact same clothes as we wore last year and say the same things. Again, you're welcome. It’s going to be a fun lineup including our own Javier Dunn starting things off with some Bolivian/Irish goodness. In other News: The album is nearing completion! After about 7 months of recording and re-recording and editing and crying and loving it and hating it and loving it again... the new music will be available for you within a few months. I’m hoping less than that but I’ve learned to over-shoot in the time department. That way my bills are never late and I stop disappointing you all, like when I said it would be done in June. Oops. ;) Thank you all for your patience and encouragement. You are all like a big hug from Snoopy and the Peanuts gang. I feel all sappy about the whole thing. Like I want to send everyone I know flowers and say thank you for helping me along the way. I swear, I'm inches away from calling my dentist at home and saying, "I know those bleach trays didn't work that well, but thanks for trying. I love you for that. How are the kids?" I think I'm emotional. Call me crazy. NO, don't. It'll make me cry. I feel unbelievably fortunate to even be in the same room as this opportunity. The chance to record music that I love and believe in. What a fuckin' dream come true. Wow. So thank you to every last one of you who is reading this and somewhere inside believing in it too. May you never receive another parking ticket. I swear I'm acting like I'm writing a speech, but what the hell. Endulge I say. it's the year of the dog. wha? Next up is mixing and artwork and then THE WORLD. Or at least a map of the world so I can circle the places I’d like to go someday. :) Moving on, Sara. Anyway, I've run off at the fingertips long enough. Thanks for endulging me. I will keep everyone updated on how things go and hopefully get some clips up on the website from inside the studio. Probably just us doing drugs or being in the hottub with chicks or something. All my love, and I bid you Adieu..... *SCENE* " |
