So today was my last day at the hotel.

And that shit was Cuh-RA-Zee!

I was the only one working, got in at 1:00pm, housekeeping was still there...didn't even have all the beds stripped until 4:00-ish. Normally when I get in all the sheets/pillowcases/bedding is done and folded and I just have to do all the towels/handtowels/bathroom stuff.

Yeah, I ended up stuck with ALL of the laundry. I mean, all, out of every room (55 total) that were all sold out last night, so every room was cleaned.

On top of that I had my 'actual' duties, which require me doing everything that isn't laundry for running the hotel on Sundays.

Which normally isn't a whole hell of a lot, because...it's Sunday.

But when you have Sturgis starting on Monday, that means lots of bikers coming through on Sundays.

And that means Steph sold every damn room in that hotel again tonight.

Alone.

And did all the laundry.

And ran my ass around running errands for people, putting rollaways in rooms, changing dead batteries in smoke alarms, and handing out new lightbulbs and/or lost remotes.

What a last day, eh?

To be honest I didn't mind it all that much. It went soooo freakin' fast. I felt like I clocked in, and then half an hour later Gary the night auditor was there. There was still one load of towels and the half load of cleaning rags to wash by the time he got in, but still...I did pretty damn good. I should've just gotten done with the bedding and had all 7 loads of towels just starting when he got in.

At least on my last day I felt like I really did bust my ass, and did a damn good job. They will miss me. Not just cause I'm conceited and assume it, the manager told me and re-iterated (after a few guests have mentioned to her in the mornings when they check out) what an asset I was to the hotel, and invited me back whenever I have a spare weekend or holiday break if I need some cash.

That's one good reference I can count on for the future ;)
