Heehee, I'm such a loser, but you know you love it...really
1/18/2005 09:26:00 PM Okay...I'm gonna say something..just put it out there...and I'm about 72% Holly and possibly Charley as well, will be mad at me. Scratch that, Holly will be mad, Charley will be jealous but get over it... (Gah! I can't believe you guys are still talking about Saturday!!!!)..so here it is. I get to see Modest Mouse in concert on Feb.28th at The Pageant For those of you who dont know, Modest Mouse is a kick ass band, and The Pageant is a kick ass club here in the Loop. So I got back last night, and apparently I was like the last one back, and everyone was like, FINALLY! Steph's here! and it made me feel loved...like I was the missing piece of the 3M puzzle that would never be able to be finished without it. So I met the new boy, Zane's new roomate replacing Tommy, and we all watched Anchorman in my room. It was nice. Best part was when Lacey came in during the end credits, and sees Will Ferrell saying the line about San Diego, which in German means whale's vagina..and she goes, "REALLY!?" hahaha, oh lacey...poor girl is even in Spanish..SO fricking hilarious though if you were there. Then, we all talked about how a girl next door to my room (of which the two occupants we never ever saw, and sometimes completely forgot were on our floor--it didnt help that their the last room at the end of the hall)anyways, one of them left, and we were supposed to be getting a "Heather" in her place. People kept saying that they swear they saw her, or that someone said they saw her, so she was kind of like an Urban Legend, and I told her that today when we finally met her in the elevator. She seems nice. Although, we heard Rachel (the other girl, her roomate) talking loudly and laughing with her so it seems like they get along which is bad for us, cause apparently Rachel hates us..I dont know Ive seen her like 2 times ever, she always hangs out on the 1st floor. Then today, I had my first class, Film Appreciation, and already the class is working. Today we watched a silent film called "Sherlock, Jr" with Buster Keaton, a revolutionary actor, way better than Charlie Chapman, even though the two were of equal fame at the time, and Charlie remains the better known. Anyways, I HATE silent films, but this was was truly great. Especially in what they did with it, without any special effects or stuntmen, so I did find a new found appreciation for these films. Back to the Stuntmen for a second, our teacher got mad because in the Aviator (a film about Howard Hughes the amazing pilot and for which during the original film 3 men died, trying to get the shots they needed, and for this one, they just said, oh dont film that, we can do that in the editing room....so I wasnt really sure that he wasnt upset that actors/stuntmen no longer have to risk their lives, or just that these days, nothing amazes you anymore. You never come out of theater wondering, "How'd they do that!?", the mystery of it all is gone.) Anyways, I come home, go get tickets with Will,Ruth,Sam, and Lacey, and while were in the Loop hit up a few shoe stores for Will, although he did finally buy a pair so it was worth it. Came home, ate with Will and Ruth, and while we were at the Gorlock Grill American Idol came on, so of course we started watching it. Came home to the dorms, and Lacey, Kristin, and Liz, all joined, and then somehow we moved to Ruths room, since she has more seating, and Will came, and watched his 2ND EVER!! episode of American Idol. Unfortunately I think hes also hooked now. It's so dangerous to ever watch, because you can never escape it...its horrible. And then after the whole American Idol thing, I had to watch these live sessions vids on Vh1.com of Kelly Clarkson, which are fricken awesome. There are like 4 songs and they're all acoustic! Which is fricken awesome (Since You Been Gone is kinda wierd, but I love, Because of You, and Behind These Hazel Eyes). As much as I love hearing all the guitars and drums and her rocking out on the album (Hear Me, at AOL Sessions is a good one to see more of that), I think I like these versions even more...I'm a sucker for acoustic stuff...it makes me want to hear her sing country. There's time. She's young. I'll give her about 5 more years to rock out, and then she can go back to R&B big voiced diva Celine-Dion-songs, as she ages, and then about 5 to 10 years after that, she can go all Sheryl Crow-suddenly-I'm-a-country-singer...although she is originally from Texas, so it would fit better than it does with Sheryl. And then, there will be a big show/party thing honoring Reba McEntire, as she finally retires, and Kelly can be one of the many performers covering her songs at the show in her honor. Along with Martina McBride, and some other young pop/country starlets that will be popular at the time. But no Kid Rock (seriously, who got the idea for him to sing at the thing for Elton John? that was just wierd hearing him singing an Elton song) Yeah, that was way too much of me giving into "fantasy Steph" where I just live in my own little world (which I do most of the time, but just not telling you stuff like this, or writing it in my blog) Oh yeah, also, something else you should all know, I just brought up the most amazing (or if I'm sticking with my apparent phrase of the moment) fricken awesome, thing. I got this bag of "Mix-Ups" out of the vending machine, and it is totally kick ass...(definitely been around Lacey too much already) It has chewy Shocker minis, chewy SweetTarts, and chewy Sprees, all together in a bag...its awesome. And I just thought I needed to inform you all of that. So now I'm off to look at E!'s best and worst dressed at the Golden Globes...maybe I'll have more on that later. And tommorrow I have Intro to Interactive Media, so we'll find out if that is to be my loathed class this semester. For now, thanks for stopping by...(gah!) |

You are such a loser, you have your own fantasy world, where you decide when artists whill be playing a certain type of music, wow!?!? Sorry, you're not a loser, just a socially deprived individual. Hopefully you'll have fun at the concert. I can already tell that you're going to enjoy your classes for a while, but you will return to the point where you really want to come home. What is the new guy like? Is he crazy? That would be cool, crazy people are always fun. (That's the reason we keep you around.) Well, that's all for now. Keep it real. Irish Midget.
