Dorothy Lynch Truly Brightens A Day 6/29/2005 02:38:00 PM

So Sam is in the hospital.

Today was rather blah, from being tired from taking Sam to the ER. I got to leave around 12:00am when her parents got there, cause I had to work, but she didn't get out till 5:30 this morning.

Well, here's the story. So yesterday I was feeling like a salad, since I hadn't had one in forever. And then I found out that Mraz would be in town Saturday and would be hanging out w/peeps in Vintage Vinyl having a cd listening party (for his new album, kinda a sneek peek before it drops) and of course I got uber excited and had to tell Sam. So I went to visit her at work (where they also serve salads--talk about your multi-tasking)

Anyways, while I was there she started having really bad cramps/stomach pains, and I thought her appendix was going to burst. She claimed she was having a baby, and I laughed, and she yelled at me. I guess it wasn't supposed to be funny. But she was supposed to get off soon, so I went on my way, and got home and thought, Sam's going to call me and tell me she's at the hospital (thinking she'd never make it home from work). Then about 15-20 mins later, my phone rings, and I'm like, "It's Sam, she needs me to take her to the ER) and I picked up my phone...it was Sam..she said, "Steph I need you to take me to the ER" or something equally similar. So I did. She doesn't know what the deal is yet though, test results come back in 2 days.

So back to me (cause it IS all about me--check the name on the blog bitch)I was kinda tired and blah today at work, and then I had to go to the Help Desk to figure out a schedule to start working, and I was dying of heat because I'm wearing a black suit, and I'm in fricken St.Louis. Humidity kills.

Then I got to my apartment where I found I had mail. REAL MAIL. From Maggie. Real Mail from Maggie. It was a postcard (not real, does not count if not sent/mailed from the place you were "supposed" to be) and some kick ass glow in the dark stickers. And a picture of Paul Nebaulski. Not the real one. The ducky.

It made me really really really really happy.

Then I pulled out my leftover salad from the day before, and whipped out some of my own salad dressing, the one and only Dorothy, and then I was really really really happy some more. Although part of it could be from Maggie's mail, I decided I would credit Dorothy in the subject line. She deserves it.
